TSF400-4: Water leak detector with Modbus RTU interface and IP65 protection.

The TSF400-4 is a compact water leak detector designed for early identification of water presence on floors, in sumps, or inside equipment. It operates with a wide power supply voltage from 4.5 to 26 VDC and communicates via a Modbus RTU interface over RS-485, allowing for easy integration with PLCs, industrial controllers, SCADA systems, and building automation platforms.

Detection is based on conductivity between the sensor electrodes; when water creates a bridge between the electrodes, the device detects the condition and signals it through the communication interface, enabling a quick and reliable alarm. The detector is fully electronic, with no moving parts, which ensures high reliability and a long operational life in industrial environments.

The bottom surface of the TSF400-4's casing contains five electrodes used for water detection. The central electrode is the active sensing element, while the four surrounding electrodes are connected to ground. When the device is placed on the floor, the electrodes come into contact with the surface. The presence of water forms a conductive path between the central electrode and any surrounding ground electrode, activating the detector and changing the output status. The electrode arrangement allows for reliable water detection from any direction around the device.
