NT 50-MPI: Ethernet programming adapter for S7-200/300/400

As DIN rail devices that can be installed directly or securely plugged in, the NetLink-MPI and netTAP-MPI adapters replace expensive CP communication processors and enable programming, visualization, and control of S7-200®, S7-300® or S7-400® PLCs via Ethernet.

The supplied driver can be integrated as a programming device (PG) in all well-known engineering tools for SIMATIC S7®, such as STEP7® or TIA Portal. The device is configured with the engineering tool or by using standard web browsers via the built-in web server.

The adapters are suitable for programming or modifying S7 PLC control programs and for designing HMI devices with WinCC visualization software. The “ISO on TCP” RFC1006 Ethernet protocol supports coupling any SIMATIC ® or third-party visualization station with the PLC. Once integrated into the plant or company network and connected to the Internet, remote maintenance and logging can be performed via a router across network boundaries using the standard TCP/IP protocol.

When organized in a network, direct communication between two or more PLCs can be achieved via Ethernet. PLCs can also be coupled without an Ethernet port. Fully integrated PROFIBUS diagnostics and DPV1 Master Class 2 services allow complete configuration and parameterization of the DP Slave device in STEP7®.

Power is supplied via a 24 V DC connector. The S7 PLC powers the NetLink-MPI connector directly. Since the connector and socket contacts are connected to one another 1 to 1, the NetLink-MPI connector allows trouble-free operation of additional devices on the same MPI/DP bus.
