BAOSKNX modules are a powerful solution for KNX connectivity on a compact, cost-effective circuit. They are aimed at manufacturers who want to integrate new or existing products into the KNX system as fully compatible devices with full ETS software support. 
The KNX BAOS 838 kBerry module is an adaptation of the proven KNX BAOS modules made especially for the Raspberry Pi. It can be connected directly to the Raspberry Pi pins and communicates via a galvanically isolated serial port. The module includes a certified KNX stack and can be configured with ETS. A generic ETS database provides up to 1,000 data points. Individual ETS entries can be created with the KNX Manufacturer Tool (KNX MT).
The KNX part of the kBerry module is powered by the bus voltage. To implement the software for the BAOS object server, the BAOS SDK is available as a free download. For using kBerry as a telegram interface, the kDrive-Express SDK can be used. A free version is also available for kDrive-Express.

## Integrated Object Server

The advantage of the Object Server in KNX BAOS modules is the logical decoupling of the application from KNX communication. The application can access communication object values without knowing the KNX telegram formats or KNX addresses used in the current installation. The KNX BAOS 838 kBerry module offers up to 1000 data points.
The module independently generates and sends group telegrams. Received group telegrams will be interpreted in the module and the values will be stored in the addressed communication objects. The complete ETS download is handled within the module.
