EMU Electronic AG was founded in 1989 as a spin-off of Landis & Gyr. Founders Eberli and Muntwyler developed the world's first digital energy meters.

The Australian flightless bird emu has a special characteristic. It cannot walk backward due to the peculiar anatomy of its legs. And neither can EMU Electronic AG. Instead, we are running by leaps and bounds, like an emu, towards a new era where energy efficiency is the key to the survival of our culture.

The 2000-watt society is not a utopia for us. The first step of any energy optimization is measurement. To this end, more than 23 years ago we developed the world's first digital energy meters. By the way: just like the emu, which is bound to the ground and cannot escape its habitat, we are also anchored to our homeland. That's why we develop and produce our energy meters, data loggers, and software in Switzerland.
