# Success Story: TMT250 Tracker Usage on Rescue Drones

The Italian network of drone operators *Rescue Drones Network* ([http://www.rescuedrones.net/](http://www.rescuedrones.net/)) is a group of people committed to creating the first rapid deployment network of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (Drones) to support both ordinary rescue activities and medium-to-large scale emergencies.

They needed to precisely and quickly locate their drones to assess their position in the field during use, as well as in case of aircraft loss.

The critical points of the project were:

- extremely small tracker size and weight
- long autonomy with continuous data transmission
- real-time transmission of coordinates to a central server
- precision and speed in coordinate acquisition
- device resistance to atmospheric agents (water, dust)

*Marcom* proposed the **Teltonika TMT250** product to the technician who contacted us. It is a product designed for tracking and monitoring people, with man-down functions, an emergency button, and a high-capacity battery.

The product perfectly met the client's requirements

- dimensions: 44 x 43 x 20 mm - weight: 40g
- equipped with a high-capacity lithium battery: 800 mAh Li-Ion battery (3.04 Wh)
- GPRS data connection with the possibility to set the IP address/symbolic name of one or two servers. Coordinate transmission with a maximum frequency of 1 time per second
- support for Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, BeiDou, A-GPS satellite services. Position acquisition in open field in less than 30 seconds
- the device is IP67 certified and operates in a temperature range of -25°C / +55°C

After studying and a trial installation, the system became operational and is now installed on the drones participating in the *Rescue Drone Network* service.
