It can be used, without the need for other equipment, as a **bridge between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU**.
It automatically converts the Modbus TCP packet that arrives on its *WAN* interface into a serial Modbus RTU packet and sends it on the integrated *RS-232* interface. When the Modbus RTU slave device responds, the router packages the message into a Modbus TCP telegram and sends it to the IP address from which the request originated. All this with the configuration of a few very simple parameters!
