Tycon Power® offers the TP-DCDC-1248GAD Gigabit DC to DC converters / PoE injectors as a low-cost, high-efficiency solution for those needing IEEE802.3af Power over Ethernet from a 12 or 24VDC voltage source, such as a battery system or vehicle. They feature a built-in Mode A PoE injector to apply power and output data to the CAT5 Ethernet cable. The output voltage is regulated and protected. They feature dual isolated inputs for connecting two power sources, such as a primary and a backup power source. A model with a metal enclosure is available for industrial applications.

They accept gigabit data input on a shielded RJ45 jack and provide gigabit data output and PoE power on the shielded RJ45 output jack. They operate by powering Ethernet pins 1,2 (V+) and 3,6 (V-). They feature various protections for overvoltage, short circuit, and overload. The units have an output power of up to 17W.
