The TP-POE-48D 802.3af Power Over Ethernet Power Source/Inserters offered by Tycon Power Systems are quality power sources for years of reliable operation even in the toughest conditions. They provide 802.3af functionality to prevent powering the POE port if a valid 802.3af client is not detected. They accept data on a shielded RJ45 input jack and provide data and power on the shielded RJ45 output jack. They work by providing power to the remote device on the unused Ethernet pins 4,5 (V+) and 7,8 (V-). The Ethernet specification supports distances up to 100m.

The POE injectors have built-in Ethernet surge protection, eliminating the need for independent Ethernet surge protection.

The TP-POE-48D are autoranging so they accept AC input from 90VAC to 264VAC (50/60 Hz) and provide regulated 48VDC output. They have various protections for overvoltage, short circuits, and overloads.

The output is 48VDC with load regulation within 5%.
