TP-SC24-20 Solar Charge Controller

TP-SC24-20 solar controllers are 3-stage PWM type battery charge controllers with temperature compensation. The controllers are auto-ranging to adapt to 12V and 24V battery systems. They are designed to charge sealed lead-acid AGM or GEL batteries. They have an integrated LCD display that shows battery voltage, temperature, load current, and solar current. They have multiple load operating modes that can be set via the "key" button on the controller.

The load output has a soft start function, so it can reliably power high-capacity loads up to 20A. A convenient on/off button is available to disconnect load power when the unit is used in the default mode (15).

They have comprehensive electronic protections for short circuit, reverse current, overvoltage, overload, over-discharge, and over-temperature. Built-in protection against discharge and low self-consumption ensures that the battery is not excessively discharged, which greatly increases battery life. All protections are self-recovering.

The units are lightning protected with TVS diode protection. They operate over a wide industrial temperature range. The electronics are conformally coated for environmental protection.

An automatic battery equalization charge activates automatically once every 30 days. The equalization charge helps balance batteries in an array and reduce the chance of battery sulfation. The equalization charge is limited to 1 hour to preserve battery life.

A special feature is the 5V 1A USB charging port, so a technician can recharge their phone or tablet while on-site.

Connections are via 6 screw terminals for cables up to 10 AWG in size. There are four screw holes (3.5 mm) for mounting. The controllers are internally fused for protection, but it is recommended to always use an external 20A fuse between the controller and the battery.
