The gateway netTAP 151 transmits IO data bidirectionally between two industrial Real-Time Ethernet networks. It is the ideal solution for installations with heterogeneous or similar networks of the same type for exchanging data across certain network boundaries. With more than 25 different combinations of the PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, POWERLINK and Sercos protocols, the device series offers a solution for any conversion.

Integration as a simple IO device in the main network makes the converter compatible with any common PLC. On the secondary side it also functions as an IO device or controls a subordinate network as a master. The length of the IO data can be adapted to any application and the data in between can be mapped arbitrarily from byte to byte.

Secure network separation is provided by two Ethernet controllers, each connected to a Dual Ethernet port with integrated switch. This enables star, ring and line network topologies without additional peripherals. Both controllers handle the protocols independently of each other and only exchange IO data via a data buffer. This results in an overall data processing time of less than 10 milliseconds.

The devices can be ordered pre-loaded with firmware and licence or generic. Generic devices minimise inventory costs. Subsequent loading of firmware configures these devices for any conversion. For all devices, configuration and diagnostics are performed via a separate USB network.
