Poynting introduces its new Narwhal antenna series, which will be our longest omni-directional antenna, to date. The enclosure design was inspired by the tusk of the narwhals, as they are known as the unicorns of the ocean. It was also discovered that the large tusk of the narwhals is used as an antenna, as it is a giant tooth that grows inside out, with hard tissue on the inside and sensitive nerves on the outside. The Narwhal series was specifically designed for marine & coastal applications and offers a variety of configurations with 5G/LTE or Wi-Fi omni-directional antennas. The cellular antennas feature ultra-wideband coverage and operates from 617 MHz to 4200 MHz, covering the contemporary 5G/LTE bands for cellular communication. The bands covered include the up-and-coming LTE Band 71, 617 to 698 MHz, as well as the CBRS band from 3400 to 4200 MHz. There will also be derivatives that offer dual-band Wi-Fi coverage in the 2.4 GHz and 5 to 6 GHz bands for complete vessel coverage.
