058R-00275 Tachograph Front Panel Cable

It easily connects to the VDO tachograph front panel interface to remotely receive tachograph files and live data. Both 12V and 24V tachographs are supported with the accessory.

Siemens VDO digital tachographs release 1.3a and higher support remote tachograph file download via the front interface. Our R&D team has created a cable that fits all tachographs – the ergonomic design ensures easy installation and does not cover the tachograph buttons or screen.

The cable connects to the K-line of the FMB640 (Pin 20). Through this pin, you can receive tachograph files and live tachograph data. This means both CAN lines of the device can be used for other purposes (FMS/external CAN sensors).

The front panel cable is 4 meters long, so it will be easy to mount the FMB640 regardless of the tachograph's mounting position in the vehicle.

Key advantages:

The main advantage is the ability to download tachograph files from 12 Volt tachographs that do not support remote tachograph file transfer through the C connector (rear connector).
Tachographs of this type are widely used in vehicles such as:

In addition, the front interface allows remote downloading of tachograph files regardless of the vehicle's ignition status.

Note:

This functionality only works with Siemens VDO tachographs.
For this function to work, the tachograph must be activated.
While tachograph files are being downloaded - live data is not read.
