PLANET IGS-12040MT è uno switch Fiber Gigabit completamente gestito (managed), progettato solitamente per le reti industriali. Dispone di 8 porte in rame 10/100/1000BASE-T, 2 porte SFP 100/1000BASE-X, 2 porte SFP 100/1000/2500BASE-X e un sistema di alimentazione ridondante, il tutto racchiuso in un robusto ma compatto chassis IP30 che può essere installato in qualsiasi ambiente difficile senza limiti di spazio. Offre interfacce di gestione IPv6/IPv4 avanzate ma trasparenti, abbondanti funzionalità di switching L2/L4 e capacità di routing statico Layer 3.

L'IGS-12040MT può funzionare in modo stabile in un intervallo di temperatura compreso tra -40 e 75 °C e consente il montaggio sia su guida DIN che a parete per un uso efficiente dello spazio all'interno dell'armadio. Grazie alle 4 porte fiber SFP a tripla velocità, può estendere in modo flessibile la distanza di connessione.
